Install Flock And Get A WordPress.com Account

Yzabel / October 21, 2005

Via Blogging Pro: if you go to the WordPress.com page, you’ll see the following message: “Want WordPress.com? Then download Flock”. The necessary link to do so is provided, but just for the record, here’s where to find the download page directly. Once you have installed Flock, just click “Getting Started”, right under the standard navigation buttons, and choose “Get yourself a blog”. There, you’ll have access to the WordPress.com, which will take you to asignup page. What is Flock, one might ask? It’s simply a web-browser—still in the beta stage, that is—that gives you easy access to Flickr, has a snazzy interface, and, among other things too, integrates a blogging tool so that you can quickly update without having to go to the blog administration itself (or without using an offline blog client). You can import bookmarks from Internet Explorer or Opera (but, oddly enough, not from Netscape/Mozilla/Firefox, even though it’s seemingly built from it); it also allows you to read your blog feeds, and share your bookmarks/favorites through Del.icio.us.Whether one will find this useful or not compared to other browsers is another story; not everyone is a browser collector like I am.Sidenote: for those who wouldn’t want to install yet another browser just to get a WordPress.com account, I still have an invite to offer. If nobody takes it, I’m afraid I’ll have to give it to my dog.blogging, browser, flock, wordpress

I got the invite in the mail, but since I’m not on my computer I haven’t downloaded it yet. It looks good though. Can’t wait to try it out.
